I turned on the television
And I could not believe my eyes
Death Destruction Sorrow all good byes
I looked and I saw into the souls
The pain and
The anguish and the tears
What brought this on and all the fears
Katrina came like a thief in the night
Causing nothing but panic and fright
I turned on the television
And I could not believe my eyes
Compassion and bravery and help trying to come
America will always be one
God is our leader and we will not stray
We will be stronger and always pray
I turned on the television
And I could not believe my eyes
The elderly the children the masses of people
All one heart and one soul made from our God
All United States citizens vowing to be strong
Never giving up when everything went wrong
I did not turn on the television
When I went to bed that night
My heart and soul ached
And I could not get the images out of my mind
I admire every person that was so kind
Trying to help each other and go on
Neighbor and families and animals too
My prayers will be for every one of you
I want to help each soul in pain
I wish I knew every name
God knows the names and the hearts and the souls
Angels are greeting each and every one
Angels will reach out to help the living and the sick
Angels will reach out to help the well
And the ones that feel like this is hell
I do not know the answers only God Above
God will give us strength and Love
